The Sun Bowl selection committee voted unanimously Wednesday to go with the Atlantic Coast Conference over the Big East for the next bowl cycle from 2010-13, according to the Tampa Tribune.
The Sun Bowl will get the fifth selection from the ACC and will play the fourth selection from the Pac-10. The Big East had offered its third selection or Notre Dame when available, but Sun Bowl committee chairman John Folmer said his committee thought the ACC offered more.
The Big East announced Tuesday a new deal in which the Champs Sports Bowl would get its second selection from 2010-13.

We have to try. If not, the conference WILL fade into obscurity. Even if it means bailing to another Conference, so be it. WVU is much higher in academics than most even know (look at the number of our Rhodes Scholars, Truman Scholars, etc…) and we bring a guaranteed fill-up on bowl seats for whatever bowl we go to. Oh, did I mention our basketball coach is a guaranteed Hall of Famer and our Football facilities are on par with most SEC schools?
nyway, did anyone pay attention to the quote from the Champs Sports Bowl Rep when the deal with the Big East was announced? I'm paraphrasing here, but when the Notre Dame arrangement was brought up, he said, "We would have inked the deal with the Big East without Notre Dame being involved, but we have no problem with them being on board." ARE YOU KIDDING?!? Who negotiated this deal? Forrest Gump?!? Unacceptable!
"D*I*S*R*E*S*P*C*T",..is what it means to me,......
The big least had it's two most prominent coaches jump from it,...one,...you know who, being an alum,...and leaving badly. The better conferences do not want us (remember BC quote about rather driving all the way to miami from boston, then podunk morgantown). We have no money,..and no viewing audience. What little we have in the state is essentially shared from summersville on down with Huntington College.
WVU Football was really a big selling peice, not just for Morgantown/WVU, but for the state.
You can forget it now. Back to obscurity,..or worse,...the hillbilly jokes.
