  • This is to the person who found my Harley-Davidson notebook at Wal-Mart in Cross Lanes and turned it in at the service desk. Thank you very much. I greatly appreciate it.
  • To get help with free tax returns, call AARP. They've been helping me for years.
  • I need an address to drop off about six prom dresses that can be given to girls that need them.
  • I keep hearing about charter schools. Can anyone please explain the difference from public education?
  • Why does the DJ in the morning on 98.7 The Beat play music while he reads the school lunch menu? You can't understand what he is saying.
  • We are in crisis where our highways are concerned, with potholes too numerous to ever be fixed and no money available for paving, but all our governor is concerned with are booze parties and involving himself in the city of Charleston's business.
  • I don't see anywhere where they are talking about what the credit card companies really did. They gave a lot of people promotional rates which can be raised as high as they want them to after the period ends.
  • The Bush tax cuts allowed business to operate and provide jobs. Obama wants to tax the life out of businesses so they can't operate and employ Americans. We're in big trouble if he gets his way.
  • Gauley Bridge has nothing on Summersville for pulling over drivers and writing unjust tickets. I was pulled over and given a ticket because the traffic light turned yellow before I got through it and the officer then lied about the circumstances during the court hearing.
  • Food, clothing, and other necessities should not be taxed. What should be taxed are beer and all alcoholic beverages, tobacco, candy, soda, and any items that can be described as luxuries.
  • Since the owner of City Center West admits the value of the building is $22 million and not $10 million, are the members of Kanawha County Commission going to stick their noses in and demand that the property tax be increased like they did with Al Summers?
  • With all the coal sludge on the eastern Kanawha County roads, I think these coal truck operators should give us free car washes. I bet Kent Carper could get this done for us.
  • I think it's time West Virginians get money from the coal just like people in Alaska get money from the oil.
  • You tree huggers are great, but underground mining pollutes groundwater too and causes black lung because of inadequate ventilation.
  • All you people whining about getting traffic tickets: If you weren't doing something wrong to break the law you wouldn't get a ticket. Police have more important things to do.
  • You folks who oppose health care seem to want it both ways. You ask Obama to fix it and he's working to fix it. Either you want it or you don't want it. Is it political?
  • Rockefeller and Byrd, do you think coal companies are the only ones in this state? Those of us who live near coal companies would like some regulations. We want them to stop dusting this stuff all over us.
  • I think Bayer CropScience should be closed down until they find out why they are having so many leaks. Stop exposing us to dangerous chemicals.
  • I think the ones that are getting welfare that don't deserve it should be drug tested -- the ones who are acting like something is wrong with them when there isn't. They are just cheating the government.
  • Mayor Casto, I have a simple solution to your budget shortage. Just one block away from your police station at 19th Street there is a four-way stop sign where only 1 percent of drivers stop. What a windfall this could be.
  • I am for the beer tax bill. I'm a family member of two alcoholics. One of them died due to a failed liver transplant. He drank too much easily obtainable beer from the time he was 11 years old.
  • Concerning all this mistresses wanting Tiger Woods to apologize to them, he shouldn't. They went into that with their eyes open and knew exactly what they were going into. They knew he was married with kids and they should be apologizing to his wife.
  • Congresswoman Capito voted against the health care bill because she felt it was irresponsible to spend that kind of money when the country doesn't have money to spend. We're currently having to borrow money now and to borrow additional money isn't responsible.
  • I think the labor board and the attorney general need to look into the business practices of Verizon Wireless. I've been there and it seems like a very poorly run company.
  • Hershey, Pa., candies are now being made in Mexico. Milton Hershey must be rolling over in his grave.
  • Now that each county school board system can decide on their calendar of school days each year, I certainly hope that Kanawha County school board will decide on a starting day in August very soon because some people are still taking vacations in August.
  • Our educational system is in big trouble. It seems like many counties are having a hard time determining how many days they've missed due to inclement weather. It seems like when they have to count beyond 10 it's a problem.
  • All non-union coal miners need to get a hold of a United Mine Workers journal this month and see what you're missing.
  • I understand the city of Nitro has to make cutbacks to their budget. However, the young men they promised to hire as police officers are now without jobs and some are without health insurance.
  • People talk about terrorists and are so worried about them coming in. They are already here. Your commission and your mayors make rules to terrorize the poor citizens. The terrorists are already here.
  • The Republican machine, well oiled by the biggest banks and corporations -- oil, coal and gas, are determined to make Mr. Obama fail. This is their overriding goal and they will stop at nothing. Goodbye freedom, goodbye one person and one vote and goodbye Jesus and the golden rule.
  • In Williamson, there's a methadone clinic where people line up, sometimes 50, fighting to get in line to get their $16 treatment every time they go. Some of these people have been on methadone for years. Yet, our legislation wants to tax beer so we can have more people put on methadone.
  • Does the city of Nitro ever think about curbing the overtime to save money? I've heard them talk about everything else, but they've never mentioned that.
  • How in the world was West Virginia supposed to have a chance against UConn when there were 46 fouls called against them? You can't tell me that the Big East isn't slanted toward UConn.
  • The canopy on the Boulevard is a nice thing, but it would also be nice to have Charleston looking cleaner on the streets, clear of all the trash and debris, like it was two years ago.
  • Has anyone noticed how the Lincoln County politicians are trashing up our roads with their political signs? I think we need to vote them all out.
  • The tree huggers say they aren't against coal mining just strip mining, but you have to have valley fills to dispose of the waste when the underground coal is washed. You can mine coal so much cleaner when you strip mine, and it puts people in much more danger when you mine underground.
  • Our federal government is so free giving out our tax money to all these people on food stamps. The ones who need them that's fine, but they are giving them refrigerators, cell phones and all of these other things. Why don't we buy them a mink coat while we're at it?
  • The people at the Logan animal shelter should have to suffer just like they are making the animals suffer. The officials who could do something about this need to be voted out.
  • If global warming is a farce, why are the countries bordering the Arctic Ocean arguing over open water oil drilling rights?
  • The person who said if we would obey the speeding laws in Chesapeake and Marmet we wouldn't get pulled over obviously doesn't live there. I have been pulled over when I wasn't speeding, but at least they didn't beat me.
  • I've got news for all the beer drinkers: If you are drinking for at least two nights a week, every week for years, you are an addict and an alcoholic. Beer will destroy your liver the same as hard liquor does, and you're in denial if you think beer doesn't cause problems in families.
  • I see where they want to hire several more State Police. That's well and good, right now we have stimulus money, but when it runs out they will have to lay off what they have. What's the use of hiring more?
  • Maybe some of these mines will straighten up now that there is a federal probe. It has been needed for a long time. I remember when men almost died going in sealed-off mines.
  • What is Erik Wells doing? Trying to get rid of public schools? He can give himself a raise but not the teachers.

I have a great idea. Why doesn't the person who edits and censures this site, write all the comments they want posted, That way all the comments will be pro-choice, anti religous, pro-gay and anti the common working man. And you won't have to censure anyone.
What do you think. Judging from all the comments left on here it might work,
