- Good old Joe can't remember the tales he tells. Now he wants to move the Lottery Commission to South Charleston. Last year it couldn't be moved out of the capital city.
- All you tree-huggers who cry about mountaintop removal: You better not go to Wal-Mart to do your shopping because they are all located where a mountain used to be.
- To the lady who said she couldn't understand an article by Jay Rockefeller about miners in their 20s and 30s getting black lung: Don't be foolish; your husband has black lung. The insurance companies won't tell him.
- Naturally, the Charleston Gazette sports section shows they're biased toward WVU when they write that they dominated Marshall. An eight-point victory is not what I would call domination.
- To the person who questioned Doc Holliday's integrity because he took some of WVU's recruits: No one forced those kids to go to Marshall. WVU fans don't have any integrity; remember, they were voted the worst.
- I hope Stewart and his defensive coaches watch the ball games and realize not one team played with a three-man defense in front. Don't you think it's time for a change?
- Why can't Gov. Manchin leave the lottery headquarters where it is? It's in a common place now, everyone knows where it is and this will only cost taxpayers more money.
- Evidently there are two sides to Adam Lambert. I'm a 62-year-old woman who never gave him a thought, but when he was on "Entertainment Tonight" asking for help for the Haiti victims, I was very impressed.
- If Doc Holliday recruited those players while at WVU, the players came there because of him, so when he goes to Marshall, they would probably follow him.
- I'm already hearing rumors they're going to bring a bunch of Haitians over to America. We have enough unemployed people here to deal with. We will help them there, but not here.
- If Jesus were here, he would be a conservative because he wouldn't go along with all the dishonest things going on in Congress.
- In my opinion, for all halfway intelligent viewers, it's well worth $33 million to get Conan O'Brian off the air.
- I wonder what's up with the black and gold uniforms the Mountaineers wore at the Capital Classic. Does the coach think if he wears black it makes him look thin?
- The first six years of President Bush's administration, time was good in the U.S. People were making more than they ever had. The last two years, when the Democrats controlled the House and Senate, he could get nothing passed.
- Kanawha County school board: Consolidate GW and South Charleston and also consolidate South Charleston and Dunbar Middle? You people are on something. It will only lead to more kids being disassociated from school and less qualified teachers.
- Massey could take the money they are spending on TV and radio ads trying to fool the public and pay into a retirement fund for their hardworking employees.
- I can see a man voting a Republican ticket if he has his own company and wants to work his help for $4 or $5 an hour, but to see a poor working man taking sides with Republicans, I don't understand it.
- Who is going to pay the wages of the employees and pay for our schools when the mining permits are turned down?
- Dollar Danny doesn't realize he keeps running businesses out of Charleston because of his fees. There needs to be an article on how many businesses have relocated.
- In response to the person about the new Ford Ranger: They say a stick shift uses less gas than an automatic.
- It's easy for our Congress to cut VA expenses 21 percent since there are very few veterans in Congress. The people should demand all Congress personnel take a 21 percent cut in wages and benefits each year for the next two years like our seniors on Social Security.
- I ordered a book on my credit card on how you can get the federal government to help you with bills over a month ago and still never got it but was charged for it. Beware of ordering books from the TV.
- Most people I know do not oppose the government trying to improve a broken health-care system or regulating business. We see this as part of what government is supposed to do.
- Can we find a Scott Brown to run against Sen. Jay Rockefeller?
- I wonder why Meals on Wheels can't be delivered regularly in Clay County. Every time a black cloud comes, they don't deliver.
- Why was it George Bush's speech and mannerisms were made fun of, yet Obama's lisp is never touched on?
- Just when I think I've heard the most ridiculous ideas, Gov. Manchin proposes new toll roads. Does anyone remember what happened on the Turnpike in December?
- Why don't you people get an education and study the difference between climate change and global warming?
- Bobby Kennedy Jr. said he committed his home to solar energy. That's wonderful, but he's a multimillionaire. The rest of us need coal.
- What a great week for the wealthy and special interests. Massachusetts killed health-care reform and health providers' stocks went up.
- Tell the protesters they can come out of the trees. Blankenship won the debate by a landslide.
- Get a standard. I work in a garage, and there are a lot of problems with automatic transmissions in Rangers. It's a good vehicle any way you look at it, though.
- I'm an old veteran and I think the most ridiculous law is that boys and girls can go overseas to fight and die for our country, but when they get home they can't even have a glass of wine or a can of beer legally.
- Who controls doctors' offices? Aren't people who draw blood supposed to wear gloves or at least wash their hands?
- All this hype about health-care reform is just hogwash to keep your mind off the real issues like the millions of jobs we've lost. Jobs are more important than health care right now.
- This help for Haiti marathon is a good thing, but did they have anything like that when Katrina hit?
- I wonder how much of a kickback the University of Charleston is getting for allowing that debate at their school. They would allow anything to go on there.
- To the Gazette: Good choice placing the comic page on the back of the sports news. I think the so-called sports are quite funny.
- Thank you, city of Charleston, for cutting down those trees on Westmoreland Drive. That has been such an eyesore and it looks so much better now.
- It would be crazy if Capito didn't file for re-election. She's the only West Virginian in Washington that cares about us.
- KRT in Charleston and TTA in Huntington operate public transportation between the two cities Monday through Friday with a stop in Teays Valley. Call KRT at 304-343-7586 or TTA at 304-529- RIDE. Round-trip bus fare is only $6. Governor Manchin initiated the service in January 2009.
- The people in this state think small. Rather than moving out of state or expecting some company to come in and hand them jobs, I don't understand why some of our Promise graduates can't start their own businesses here and create jobs for themselves.
- The ranks of the Democratic and Republican parties are shrinking while the registration of Independent voters who do not stick to party lines is growing, and they will be heard across this nation as they were in Massachusetts.
- Andy Dick: Nothing to laugh about with this lewd comedian.
- There should be a national boycott of all products and services from Massachusetts, especially their tourism. Shame on them for their selfishness when they already have health insurance for all.
- It was finally announced that the DuPont plant in Belle had been having a chemical leak for five days. As usual, they said it was nothing to worry about. Yeah, right.

You need to read P.Kabler's article in Sunday's paper, 1/24/10. The state constitution prohibits moving state offices from Charleston...but as we all know...the "Gov" does what he wants, when he wants.
