Advertiser

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Raleigh County electronics manufacturing plant is closing at the end of the month, leaving about 40 employees without jobs, a company official said this week.

Da-Tech is consolidating operations at its Beaver plant with another manufacturing facility in Delaware, said Paul Litwack, chief executive officer at Da-Tech.

Ivyland, Pa.-based Da-Tech makes computer boards.

The company blamed the economic downturn and the need to cut costs for shutting down the plant.

Da-Tech plans to help its workers find other jobs.

Da-Tech's clients include aerospace, medical, automotive, telecommunications and mine safety firms.

One would wonder why Joe Manchin would not help one company that is closeing and then give another company 7 million $ to stay open.

Why ?? Manchin has close ties with the Clarksburg company. Its that simple ! Manchin will always come to the aid of these northern counties because those counties has been his "play ground" since he was borned. It goes way back to his Itano culture.

From what I understand The "find other jobs" means a 2 week severance package with the caveat that the employees sign a waiver of liability for any future health problems created by the chemicals that they are continuously exposed to. What a heck of a way to treat people

Da-Tech bought this plant about two years ago and obviously started planning to shut it down and consolidate it with there Delaware facility

And another thing... Where is Uncle Joe? Why is our fearless leader not raising all sorts of cane to try and save these peoples jobs? I'll tell ya why; Da-Tech is not a coal mine and therefore not part owners of the Governor.

These people need the help and support of the state and I guarantee you they are not going to get it because they don’t matter! Typical West Virginia story: Workers get the short end of the stick while the politicians get a good laugh at our expense.
