PSC consumer advocate wants Frontier investigation
Advertiser

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The state's public utility watchdog has joined FiberNet in asking the state Public Service Commission to reopen its decision to approve Frontier Communication Corp.'s purchase of Verizon's landline network in West Virginia.

In a letter filed with the commission Thursday, the PSC's Consumer Advocate Division didn't state a reason for the request -- only that it agrees with Verizon that the PSC investigate Frontier's operating system.

Last week, FiberNet, which uses Frontier's landline network, alleged that Frontier's operating system was causing numerous problems for customers.

Frontier has until today to file a response with the PSC.

On July 1, Frontier took over more than 600,000 telephone access lines from Verizon in West Virginia.

It's not just hardware, Frontier is handling things clumsily. They emailed us a couple of weeks ago to say we'd get plenty of warning before they switched our email addresses. Yesterday they sent an email that it's being done this weekend; today they sent an email that it's done. So much for a warning.

Why is it that people think that five or six years of neglect can be corrected in one month.

I agree, Verizon is the reason our infrastructure is in such a mess.

Where was this 'nut' while Verizon was letting the landlines deteriorate?
