PINEY VIEW, W.Va. - A 23-year-old man died Saturday in a single-vehicle accident, members of the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department said.
According to police, John David Miller of Mount Hope was driving north on W.Va. 61 and came to a deep curve. It is referred to locally as "Dead Man's Curve," Deputy J.L. Redden of the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department said.
Miller apparently lost control of his vehicle when he came out of the curve. The vehicle went over an embankment, struck a tree and came to rest in a small stream. A passing motorist found Miller trapped in the vehicle early Saturday morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene; no one else was in the vehicle with him.
Deputies Redden and R.E. Hall are investigating the accident.
