TODAY

  • Kanawha County Association of Retired School Employees will meet at 10 a.m. at the Schoenbaum Center. Speaker will be YWCA Director Debby Weinstein. Members will be filling Blizzard Boxes for Manna Meals. A covered dish luncheon will be served after the meeting.
  • FUTURE EVENTS

  • Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, Charleston City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the South Charleston Municipal Court Building. The board will meet at 6:45 p.m. President Lynn Greter will conduct the business meeting. First vice president Sandra Jo Medley will discuss arrangements for the pledge ritual in November. Laureate Kappa members are guests.
  • Children's Home Society will sponsor a free concert and provide information about adoption and foster care at 7 p.m. Friday at River Ridge Church, located behind Capital Flea Market. The Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus will perform. Families and children touched by adoption will be present. Refreshments will be provided.   •   Hansford Senior Center will have a special program to honor veterans at 11 a.m. Monday at the senior center. The Hansford Annual Thanksgiving Program/Luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 21. Friday Night Jam will be held that same evening at 6 p.m. There will be door prizes; 50/ 50 drawing and the concession stand will be open at 5 p.m. Admission is by donation. All ages are welcome.
  •   West Virginia University Putnam County Extension Office will have a holiday craft workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Mondayin the Putnam Career and Technical Center. Registration will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. To pre-register, call 586-0217.
  • Dunbar Little League will be holding its annual board of directors elections at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at the 22nd Street Field. All paying volunteers and members will be allowed to vote and run for any position on the board.
