Kanawha Valley Horseman's Association will hold a Summer Challenge of Champions Horse Show at 7 p.m. Friday and at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Winfield Riding Club, W.Va. 34. A Kid's Fun Zone will begin around 1 p.m. Admission is $3 per person and admission to the Fun Zone is a $3 donation. Proceeds will help fulfill wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions in Southern West Virginia through Make-A-Wish. Doors open at 4 p.m. Advance registration is $20 for 20 game sheets, nine Bingo cards per sheet. Two special games are $1 per card or six for $5. Cost at the door is $25. Raffles and door prizes will be featured and refreshments will be sold. No one under 18 will be permitted. To register, call 342-1576.
Tri-County YMCA is accepting membership to its Wild Waves competitive swim team. The team ranges from ages 5 to 18 and practices almost every day, beginning in early September. Developmental swimming is also offered to students between the ages of 5 and 14. Students must pass a swim test in order to participate. Hours will be 4:30 to 5 p.m. and 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The fee for Developmental Swimming is $60 for YMCA members and $84 for nonmembers. For information, call 757-0016
