  • SUMMER FUN: Noon to 5 p.m., Clay Center for the Arts. Admission is free to the art museum, science exhibits and ElectricSky Theater, as well as entertainment in the Maier Performance Hall. Clowns, a magician and a caricature artist will be featured outside on the plaza. The Second Avenue drum ensembles Steel Drummin' and Cool Jammers will perform from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the performance hall. The local band Voodoo Katz will play from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Planetarium show "Summer Skies" at noon and 2 p.m. in the ElectricSky Theater. A "Coral Reef Adventure" film will be shown at 1, 3 and 4 p.m. Call 561-3570 or visit www.theclaycenter.org.
  • KANAWHA TRAIL HIKE: Noon, Meadow River Gorge-Summersville area hike. Regroup at Marlene Dial's cabin in Summersville. Hike is about 4 miles from the cabin to the beach area along the river. Moderate difficulty with one steep grade.
