Finance Committee of the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority will meet at 2 p.m. Friday in the Public Use Conference Room of the Airport Director's Office, Yeager Airport. The 2009 budget and health insurance will be reviewed as well as other matters.
Kanawha County Public Library system will close all of its libraries for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday.
American Red Cross Charleston Donor Center will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at its location, 4501 MacCorkle Ave. For information, call (800) GIVE LIFE.
Kanawha County Public Library's summer library club for adults, the Britton Summer Reading Club, will run Tuesday through Aug. 29. This summer's theme is "Summertime and the Reading Is Easy." Participants must check out and read six library books, choosing from nine categories. Details are explained in the registration materials. Participants will be invited to a reception in September. Those who complete the program will be presented with a special gift at the reception. The club is named in memory of Clarence "Cab" Britton, a longtime patron of the Main Library, and is funded by a bequest from Britton's estate.
