Three Mason County men were arrested and charged this week with stealing copper from the National Guard Armory, State Police said.
Brandon Spencer, 26, and Anthony Black, 20, both of Point Pleasant, and Joshua Starks, 24, of Apple Grove, were charged with breaking and entering.
The men allegedly tried to steal $2,500 worth of copper wire used to star military Humvee vehicles.
Earlier this week, State Police at the Point Pleasant detachment were dispatched to the Armory after witnesses spotted three men crawling under a fence outside the facility. The suspects left the scene before officers arrived, but they left behind a suitcase filled with copper wire.
Spencer and Black were being held Friday night at Western Regional Jail on $25,000 bond. Starks was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
Spencer was a civilian employee at the Armory where military-owned Humvees are refurbished. The three suspects could face federal charges.
