HUNTINGTON - A former branch manager at Star USA Federal Credit Union pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to embezzling more than $81,000 from the credit union.
Susan Kelly, 58, of Barboursville worked at the credit union, formerly known as the Huntington Veterans Affairs Credit Union, from 1998 to 2006, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
She faces up to 30 years in prison, supervised release of five years, a fine of $1 million and restitution when she is sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers on April 28.
Also in federal court Monday:
s A Dunbar man was sentenced to five years in prison for possession of five grams or more of cocaine base with the intent to distribute.
Timothy Lee Taylor Jr., 23, sold crack to a confidential informant working with police on several occasions, according to the release. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin.
s A Huntington man pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
Taaron Bowman, 43, let police search his truck after they saw him conduct a transaction with a woman known to be a drug user, according to the release. Authorities found 23 grams of crack cocaine in the truck.
Bowman faces up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine when sentenced by Chambers on April 28.
s A Huntington woman was sentenced by Chambers to 21 months in prison after she pleaded guilty to distribution of cocaine base.
Susan Barrett, 42, pleaded guilty in March 2006, admitting that she distributed crack in the Huntington area on Dec. 28, 2005.
s A Mexican man was sentenced to eight months in prison and one year of supervised release for re-entering the United States illegally.
Eduardo Fuentes-Gonzales, 23, was arrested after a traffic accident near Point Pleasant in August, according to the release. He pleaded guilty to the charges in October.
Fuentes-Gonzales was deported from the U.S. in December 2006. When sentencing him, Chambers noted his prior convictions in 2005 for cocaine possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
